Love Glad, Wipe & Shine record 1st win in Kalye Liga Negros B-ball
Team Love Glad defeated OBI Knights, 56-47, during the game opener of the 1st Kalye Liga Negros Basketball League 2022 at Silvergraces Gym in Puentebella Subd., Taculing, Bacolod City on March 12. In the second match, Wipe & Shine outscored Team Bog with a final score of 69-58.
League organizer and Negros Muscovados team owner John Alfred Gilbor said that he was inspired by the core principle of Kalye Liga Ph during an interview with local sports correspondents.
“We need to instill discipline in our players today in order to be the best version of themselves on and off the court. And if possible, doing it all the time,” Gilbor said.
“Before we implemented Kalye Liga, our referees have attended seminars and trainings conducted by certified game officials so that their decision-making would be consistent. Also included in these seminars are first aid basics trained by qualified medics and nurses,” Gilbor stressed.
For lone district Representative Greg Gasataya, this Kalye Liga is a good avenue for athletic players to improve not only their physical health but also to ease the mental stress brought about by the pandemic.*
