Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said that the grand rally of Vice President Leni Robredo at the Paglaum Stadium in Bacolod City was “successful.’

“It doesnt matter what the total number was, it can already be considered a successful day for VP Leni here in Negros Occidental and thank you for all those who showed up in all her campaign sorties,” Lacson told PNV Media today.

Organizers of the Leni-Kiko grand rally claimed the crowd reached 70,000.

The rally was attended by Lacson, former governor Rafael Coscolluela, Sagay Mayor Alfredo Marañon III and Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr.

Asked if the numbers will mean votes for the candidates, the governor said, “The numbers in both rallies definitely gave encouragement to both presidential candidates.”

Lacson also confirmed that Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer sent him a text message congratulating him for a successful rally.

Ferrer heads the campaign of former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the province.

Earlier, the governor and the vice governor, in a joint press conference said that while they have different presidential bets, the local coalition of Lacson’ s Love Negros and Ferrer’s UNegA will remain “solid and strong.”

We will respect each other’s choices as well as of the mayors’ in the province, they said.* (EYA)
