Provl govt to send teams to Bago, Kabankalan for 2-day vaxx drive

The provincial government of Negros Occidental will send two vaccination teams to Bago City and Kabankalan City to augment their vaccination efforts during the two- day 3rd round of the National Vaccination Days slated tomorrow, February 10 to 11.

Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator yesterday said the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Hospital Operations Division (HOD) “is on top of this.”

Diaz said that they have coordinated with all the local government units if they want their vaccination teams to be augmented by health workers from the Capitol.

The target is for our the teams to inoculate 1,000 persons in the two locations, he added.

“And as an appreciation of the provincial government of those who participated in the vaccination campaign,” he said , “each will receive two kilos of rice from the Capitol.”

Negros Occidental is eyeing to retain its top spot as the top performing province in Western Visayas in third round of the simultaneous national vaccination rollout tom., February 10 and 11.

Lacson, earlier, said he has reminded the PHO to ensure full vaccination output, and the cooperation of every local government unit is important.

As of February 8, Negros Occidental logged a 60 percent vaccination performance.

Diaz said the province still has a 40 percent of the target population to be vaccinated.

He cited the Typhoon Odette as a major reason in the delay of reaching our vaccination target.

Diaz said that the CHICKS area, the worst hit by Typhoon Odette, is having problems with their health workers.

“Its difficult to have available health personnel to help in the vaccination drive. The city and municipal health office are up to the task,” he also said.* (DGB)
