Bacolod EOC augments Bago City vaccinators

February 8, 2022

The National and Regional Vaccination Operations Centers requested the Bacolod Emergency Operations Center-Task Force to augment manpower to neighboring Bago City to fast-track its vaccination campaign against COVID-19.

Bago City Health Officer Dr. Ferdinand Ramon Mayoga explained that while the city maintains its efforts to facilitate the implementation of vaccination activities and expedite inoculation of individuals with zero dose, the Local Vaccination Operation Center lacks trained personnel to administer COVID-19 jabs to residents.

Dr. Edwin Miraflor, Jr., officer in charge of the Bacolod City Health Office, said that the EOC-TF has agreed to the request and will deploy around eight vaccinators starting yesterday, Feb. 7, until Feb. 11.

The vaccinators will support Bago City’s team of screeners and post-vaccination monitoring team as they look to achieve their set target to inoculate around 400-500 residents daily.

“We strongly encourage our friends from Bago City who are not yet vaccinated to get their jabs. It’s their own little way to help the government to protect the population against COVID-19,” said Miraflor.

First and second doses, as well as booster shots will be available, including those for the pediatric population aged 12-17 years old, Miraflor added.* (Bacolod City PIO)
