Helping with the jabs

Members of the Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara and the Rotaract Club of Marapara gave their support recently to the vaccination drive of Barangay Pahanocoy in Bacolod City.

Some 1,000 residents gathered at the Barangay Hall for a vaccination or a booster shot. After the jabs, club members treated residents to tasty snacks and drinks prepared by barangay volunteers.

“Vaccination is our surest way to finally ending the pandemic and we were pleased to have the opportunity to help make this vaccination drive more fun by providing refreshments for everyone,” said Marapara Rotary president Rolando Corona.

Both clubs also proposed bringing their Project ICT computer literacy program to the barangay to help its youth navigate the computer as part of Basic Education and Literacy.

Club members outlined to barangay officials how the program is providing young people in many parts of the city with a firm foundation in computer skills, thus equipping them for future success in today’s technology-driven environment.* (Robert Harland)
