DYA extends relief operations to Typhoon Odette victims
DYA Filipinas, with the support of Arcores International/St. Ezekiel Moreno Kindness Bakery/Colegio San Nicolas de Tolentino –Recoletos/ Mrs. Rosales of Talisay City / Tio Ino’s comfort foods / and other kind donors, took the initiative to conduct a relief operation for the people who had been affected by typhoon “Odette”.
The first batch of relief operation was conducted last December 26, 2021 with 1,005 recipients of relief goods (drinking water/food packs/ bread/ hygiene essentials/clothing).
The second batch was conducted on January 2, 2022 to 250 families or 1000 individuals. They received relief goods, drinking water, slippers, and food packs.
Aside from providing relief goods, DYA Filipinas Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Team conducted wound dressing and wound care to the patients at the Evacuation Center of Barangay Gil Montilla. Most of the patients were hit by sharp objects during the typhoon.
DYA Filipinas Volunteers headed by Chief Operations and Training Officer Mr. Karlo Martin A. Gerasmo led the relief operations to our brothers and sisters in the Southern part of Negros Occidental (Barangay Inayawan and Barangay Caliling of the Municipality of Cauayan, and Barangay Gil Montilla in Sipalay City) in coordination with Barangay Captain Gemma Eyoy-Trio.
This humanitarian activity would not be possible without our generous donors who selflessly shared with the community. The donations greatly helped those worst hit by the calamity.*
