Bacolod firefighters receive medal
Bacolod City Fire Station headed by CINSP RODEL T LEGASPI, City Fire Marshal, together with 19 firefighters have received “Medalya ng Pagtulong sa Nasalanta”on the 48th Fire Service Recognition Day of the Bureau of Fire Protection held at EON Centennial Hotel and Water Park, Alta Tierra Village, Jaro, Iloilo last December 20, 2021.
The event has a theme, “Pagtugon ng Bomberong Pilipino sa Hamon ng Modernisasyon”, attended by different BFP Officers and Personnel of Region 6.
The award was given by BFP Regional Director SSUPT JERRY D CANDIDO, DSC together with special guest honor and speaker CG COMMO EDGAR L YBAŇEZ, DSC, Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard District Western Visayas.
The regional director said these awardees have exemplary performance and profound dedication to public service during the conduct of rescue and relief operations to 15 individuals including an infant during the onslaught of Typhoon Dante last June 5, 2021.
Among those who received the awards of the BFP Region 6 were CINSP RODEL T LEGASPI, Operations Chief SFO2 Restito C Salon, Battalion 1 Supervisor SFO1 Gelvin C Mapa, Community Relations Unit Chief FO3 Carlo Vincent L Mallari, Fire Truck Operator FO2 Jed Antoni P Cartagena, Nozzlemen FO2 Rolyn E Paladin and FO1 Rudy G Gelogo, Public Information Officer FO1 Paul E Servano, Benefits Morale and Welfare Section Chief and former Operations Clerk FO1 Joanzen D Estrella, and Radio and Telephone Operators FO1 Michelle T Aguirre and FO1 Rhea Victoria T Tamisen.
Fire Sub Stations (FSS) personnel from Pahanocoy FSS and Sum-ag FSS were also given medals. Those were FSS Supervisors SFO2 Inocencio G Mediodia and SFO1 Benjie Dianne M de Paula,Fire Truck Operators FO3 Jayson C Dela Peña and FO2 Michael Angelo J Janobas, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Assistant Chief FO2 Lorbel Mae O Arrobang, Nozzlemen FO1 Michael M Gonzales, FO1 Ernie P Benguelo, FO1 Ben D Andico, and EMS Crews, FO1 Michelle Charm B Barzo, and FO1 Lora Joyce D Eria.
On the other hand, the BFP Special Rescue Force of Negros Occidental also received the Medalya ng Papuri and Medalya ng Pagtulong sa Nasalanta, for their commitment to service manifested the competence of firefighters in responding to any emergencies and dedication to service. Currently, the SRF is housed at Bacolod City Fire Station.*
