Cauayan Municipal govt alerts residents on approaching Odette

Mayor John Rey of Cauayan town in southern Negros Occidental already alerted residents of the municipality against the approaching Typhoon Odette.

Odette, based on PAGASA’s forecast, will traverse parts of the the town tomorrow Thursday or on Friday, bringing heavy rains and high winds.

Tabujara told newsmen the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has been activated as well as all agencies.

Evacuation centers are also ready as five flood-prone areas have been identified and alerted, which include those Barangays Guiljungan, Tiling, Poblacion, Caliling and Inayawan.

Force evacuation is also an option as soon as heavy rain is experienced, the mayor also said.*
