4K mangrove propagules planted by Coast Guard in Banago shoreline

About 4,000 mangrove seedlings and propagules were planted during the conduct of Mangrove Planting Activity at Purok Alalahoy in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City on November 6.

The activity was an initiative of the Coast Guard Station Negros Occidental (CGSNOC) through its Commander, Coast Guard Captain Ludovico D. Librilla Jr. together with the Marine Environmental Protection Force Western Visayas (MEPForce-WV) headed by Coast Guard Commander Jonie Belarmino.

Residents of the barangay as well the city officials, CENRO of Bago City, Bacolod Tugboat Services Corp., PNP Maritime Group, Bureau of Fire Protection-Bacolod, Rotary Club members, Bacolod City Eagles Club, Philippine Ports Authority- Negros Occidental, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary-Negros Occidental, Kapatiran ng Kabataang Kriminolohiya (KKK) Crime Buster Frasority, and Alpha Kappa Rho (AKP) participated in the activity.

This is part of the continuous effort of PCG Negros Occidental to build a sound camaraderie with its partner organizations and individuals which will help the community to rise and fulfill the need of our rich marine environment, a PCG statement said.*
