College dean, 2 doctors in Kabankalan succumb to COVID-19
A dean of a southern Negros Occidental university and two doctors succumbed to COVID-19, the Kabankalan City information officer revealed.
Jake Gonzales, city public information officer, identified them as Dr. Lorina Baylon Crobes, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences of the Central Philippine State University (CPSU), and Dr. Gladys Patindol of the Kabankalan District Hospital in Barangay Tabugon, who died on Monday, November 1.
Another government physician, Dr. John Vic Caagbay of the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital also in Kabankalan died due to COVID-19, Gonzales said.
The CPSU main campus in Brgy. Camingawan, Kabankalan is closed until November 15 for disinfection.
During the recent meeting of the City Development Council, Kabankalan Mayor Pedro Zayco Jr. called on barangay captains to help in the intensified vaccination campaign.
Zayco said the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 will be brought by the city government to the barangays.
