Vaccination of minors in Negros Occ. waiting for DOH signal

October 19, 2021

Preparations are on in Negros Occidental for the vaccination of minors, although the provincial government is waiting for the cue from the Department of Health (DOH) to start inoculating those 12 to 17 years old against COVID-19.

Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said the registration for minors is now on.

Meanwhile, vaccination in the province for ages 18 and above continue as the province keeps receiving more doses of vaccines from the national government.

The vaccines it received this week included Sinovac, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, and AstraZeneca.

“I hope ang aton mga kautoran will take this opportunity to have themselves vaccinated, especially subong nga kadamo na ta options (on which vaccine they wanted),” Diaz said.

Vaccine acceptance is no longer a problem in Negros Occidental, he said, because there are no leftovers in the doses they are sending out to the local government units, he added.*
