October 19, 2021

OceanJet Fast Ferries Corporation has resumed trips between Bacolod City and Iloilo City following the reopening of both cities to sea travelers via fastcraft.

Two other fastcraft operators plying the same routes, however were still monitoring the volume of passengers as of yesterday prior to resuming operations.

Based on passenger data released by Coast Guard Station-Negros Occidental, they recorded 95 passengers who crossed to Iloilo City with 39 passengers riding 1st trip scheduled at 5:45 a.m., followed by 56 for the 2nd trip scheduled at 8:50 a.m.

Frank Carbon, operator of Weesam Express, said they would like to observe the volume of passengers first in order to determine if it is feasible for the other fastcraft operators to resume.

Based on the travel protocols issued respectively by both city governments of Bacolod and Iloilo, travelers are required to show their valid vaccination cards via the S-PaSS system.

Travelers who are unable to produce a valid vaccination card, meanwhile, are being required to present a negative RT-PCR test.

Roll on-roll off trips between Bacolod and Dumangas, Iloilo continue and passengers are required to present necessary documents prior to boarding.*
