Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran led the second day of distribution of medical and burial assistance to the second batch of 120 beneficiaries at the Bacolod City Government Center yesterday, Oct. 14.
Yesterday’s recipients were among the 360 indigents who are qualified to receive assistance from the local government.
On Wednesday, the first batch of 120 beneficiaries received the same assistance from the city.
The Bulig Ini Nga Gugma Program, headed by City consultant Marlon Solidum, is facilitating the distribution of rhe financial help for three days, Oct. 13 to 15.
In his message, Leonardia again urged the beneficiaries to have themselves and their families vaccinated. Our best defense against COVID-19 is the vaccine, he said.
Familiaran told the beneficiaries that 95 percent of COVID-19 deaths in Bacolod were the unvaccinated.
“In Bacolod, no one died of COVID vaccines. Think it over,” the vice mayor added.
Joining them at the distribution rites yesterday were Councilor Archie Baribar, Councilor Carl Lopez, Councilor Israel Salanga, Emergency Operations Center-Task Force Executive Director Em Ang, City Hall Consultant Marlon Solidum, and Grupo Progreso members Jonathan Diaz and Ed Guillem.* (Bacolod City PIO)
