NGCP implements manual load dropping
Electric cooperatives in Panay and Negros, including CENECO, experienced unscheduled power interruption today, October 5 at 5:24am
The power outage was brought about by power supply deficiency resulting from the tripping of power plants in Negros Oriental, as per monitoring of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).
The said power interruption affected NGCP’s Bacolod-San Enrique and Bacolod-Alijis 69kV transmission lines (TL), and CENECO’s Bacolod-Silay and Bacolod-Reclamation 69kV TL.
Power was eventually restored to a portion of CENECO’s coverage areas but to maintain the integrity of the transmission grid, NGCP implemented manual load dropping, leaving some feeders still unenergized.
CENECO is closely coordinating with NGCP for updates.*
