Rotary Club of Bacolod welcomes Rotaract Club of Colegio San Agustin

Seventy-nine young people composed of college students in different courses and allied health professionals of Colegio San Agustin joined the pledge on Oct. 2 in the Rotaract Club of Colegio San Agustin as coordinated by their adviser Mr. Renato Lacanilao with the support of their mother club, Rotary Club of Bacolod.

Life-changing President Pauline Cuaycong installed the elected officers led by Rotaract President Deanna Therese Cerna.

The officers of the Rotaract Club of Bacolod for the Rotary year 2021-2022 are:

PRESIDENT – Deanna Therese Cerna
VICE PRESIDENT – Yedanne Mabesa
SECRETARY – Carla Anne Julaton
TREASURER – Joy Villagante
AUDITOR – Mary Necole Gamboa
PIO – Jyrah Marie Parohinog
BUSINESS MANAGER – Alejandra Mari Alova

The new members took oath led by Past President Frederick Anthony de Leon.

A special message was given by Rotaract District Chairman Dennis Pedrosa.

The orientation about the Rotary organization was shared by Director for Youth Gay Marie Tiu.

Councilor of Bacolod City and the Director of Public Relations of Rotary Club of Bacolod Hon. Israel Salanga shared his ideas and challenges to the youth through his inspirational message. He encouraged the thrusts of the Ability to Listen, Ability to Control Emotions and the Ability to be Decisive.

The event was also graced by Past District Governor Edgar Sy whose philanthropic works has encouraged the young people to start community projects.

Supporting the school’s organization for Rotaract is led by the school president Rev. Fr. Arnel Dizon, OSA and department Dean Jo ann Flores.

The Rotary Club of Bacolod will be the advisers and partners in service for the upcoming projects and community outreach adjusted to the new normal of the Rotaract Club of Colegio San Agustin for the thrust to “Serve to Change Lives.”*
