FREE RIDES FOR HEALTH CARE WORKERS
Health care workers in Bacolod City and other parts of Negros Occidental can avail of free rides from designated pick up points in the city or town proper to some barangays.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr), through its Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), continues to provide “Libreng Sakay (Free Ride)” in many parts of the country including in Bacolod and Negros Occ., as it sought P3-B budget from the national government to continue the program.
In Bacolod, free ride Ceres buses – air-conditioned and non-aircon – are temporarily parked at the public plaza along San Juan Street, each with designated routes.
Vallacar Transit, operator of Ceres buses, for weeks now also offers free rides from the northern and southern parts of the province for those who have identification cards. Free riders are simply required to fill up and sign a form.*
