Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are expected over#NegrosOccidental(San Carlos City) and nearby areas within 1 to 2 hours.

The above conditions are being experienced in #Cebu which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.

SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 AM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 135 km East Northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar (11.6°N, 126.8°E) embedded in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

FORECAST: Western Visayas including Negros Occidental and Bacolod City will have cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to ITCZ/LPA. Light to moderate winds coming from the Northeast will prevail over Negros Island and the coastal waters are slight to moderate with an average height of 0.6 to 2.1 m
