September 4, 2021

Himamaylan City Vice Mayor Justin Silos Gatuslao said he is “very thankful” Mayor Raymund Tongson “still has full trust and confidence” on his leadership in the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP).
“Kanami sang tandem namon ni Mayor because he is not a yes man and I am not a yes man. … in fact we have differences also of opinion but the point is, we recognize those things,” the vice mayor told NDB in an interview.
If he comes out with a statement and I also come out with my statement, we always find ways to come together for the benefit of Himamaylanons, VM Gatuslao also said.
“… To anybody who wishes to think nga gub-on nila ang amon nga partnership, ang alyansa, AlyansaTOGA… I’d like to think siguro, better luck next time because for 2022 and onwards daw pag-on gid ni ang amon nga partnership,” Vice Mayor Gatuslao stressed.
In an earlier interview, Mayor Tongson told NDB his running mate in next year’s election will still be VM Gatuslao, saying their team work has done so much for the city in just three years.
Tongson said their partnership under AlyansaTOGA can do more for Himamaylan especially that Himamaylanons’ cooperation to their tandem’s efforts of bringing development and progress is very strong.
MOST PRODUCTIVE SP
Vice Mayor Gatuslao, meanwhile revealed that the SP he leads is “the most productive city council in Himamaylan’s history”.
The city council under his leadership, he said, already had more than 30 city ordinances in just two years, “… more than the past six years combined”.
Gatuslao attributed the outstanding performance and achievement of the Sanggunian to the very good working relations within the council, and because of the “clear and definite direction of our legislative agenda.”* (Arman P. Toga)
