DepEd-Cadiz City signs MOA for School Head’s Academy

The Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Cadiz City signed an agreement Friday with a Sagay City-based institution, a congressional office, and a local government unit for the establishment of a School Head’s Academy (SHA) progam.

The three-month SHA program trains and prepares public school teachers to become school heads in institutions under DepEd.
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed at the Terrace Garden and Restaurant in Cadiz City between Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Ma. Lorlinie M. Ortillo, CESO VI; Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology (NONESCOST) President, Dr. Renante A. Egcas; 2nd District (Negros Occidental) Congressman Leo Rafael M. Cueva; Cadiz Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr.;

OIC-Asst. Schools Division Superintendent, Julito L. Felicano; Dean, NONESCOST Graduate Studies, Dr. Jocelyn D. Bantigue; Chair, CIMD, NONESCOST, Dr. Ma. Janet S. Geroso; and Exec, ec, of the Congressional Office, Beethoven Fuentespina, Jr.

The MOA ensures that qualified teachers to be enrolled in NONESCOST in Sagay City under the SHA program will be entitled to scholarship grants that include free tuition and miscellaneous fees, mobile load and transportation allowances, and other privileges.

CADIZ LGU SUPPORT

Cadiz Mayor Escalante, following the August 27, 2021 MOA signing, revealed to newsmen that on Tuesday, the Cadiz DepEd Division also signed a similar MOA with theCadiz-based Philippine Normal University (PNU) for a similar agreement for a different batch of teachers.

Escalante said his government provides support for each teacher under the program.

Escalante said his city government provides support for both students and teachers, from the elementary to high school and college, and even up to the masters studies of mentors.

Also at the MOA signing ceremonies Friday morning were Edgardo G. Siaton, Ll.B., Chief Education Supervisor-SGOD; Dr. Dondy A. Depoistario, Focal Person, SHA; Dr. Glenda Libertad of Paniqui-on Elementary School; Dr. May P. Pascual, Chief Education Supervisor, CID; Lovella A.
