Local Coast Guard stations inspect 6-ha. lot being proposed for donation to PCG WV
Coast Guard Station Bacolod and Coast Guard Sub Station Escalante personnel, with Escalante City Executive Assistant Rolen Cabus, inspected and surveyed today the proposed 6-hectare land in Barangay Langub, Escalante to be donated to the Philippine Coast Guard – Western Visayas.
The proposed area is reportedly “an ideal place for the PCG in Northern Negros considering that it is a sheltering area in which it could utilize its floating assets during unfavorable or bad weather conditions,” a statement from the Coast Guard Station – Negros Occidental said.
“In addition, the PCG and the local government unit through collaboration and partnership will develop and utilize the said area for future establishment of PCG infrastructures (maritime security and law enforcement training center and radar station) in Northern Negros,” the statement also added.*
