Capitol celebrates International Youth Day
The Negros Occidental Sangguniang Kabataan Federation spearheaded the International Youth Day celebration held at the Capitol Social Hall, this morning, with the theme, “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”.
Board Member Pocholo Yuvienco, Negros Occ. SK Federation president, together with the SK representatives of the towns and cities of the province led in celebrating today’s event, together with Board Member Juvy Pepello and PYDO Narciso Abad III.
In his message, Gov. Bong Lacson assured Board Member Yuvienco and all SK Federation officers and members that the provincial government will always support them and help them achieve their utmost potential.
“As the father of this province, one of the best things I can do is to make sure that the next generation will be made more capable, more knowledgeable, and empowered to carve the future not just for themselves but for all Negrense generations next,” he said.
He also advised them to study, observe, and love the people and country, so they will be able to effectively steer the progress of the society.
The International Youth Day is celebrated every 12th of August every year. It aims to raise awareness about the cultural and legal issues surrounding the youth, and to highlight the importance of youth as the driving force of change in the world.* (Capitol PIO)
