CityMall-Goldenfield will be 4th mall-based Covid-19 vaccination site tomorrow
Another mall-based vaccination site in Bacolod will be opened tomorrow Friday (July 30, 2021) to expedite the inoculation of priority sectors against the coronavirus.
The CityMall Goldenfield, located in the southern part of the city, is going to be the fourth shopping mall that will host the vaccination of Bacolod residents.
City Administrator Em Ang, who also sits as executive director of the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force and coordinator of the Covid-19 Vaccination Council (CoVaC), said that the newest vaccination hub would administer the first dose to the five priority groups.
These include A1 (healthcare workers/front-liners), A2 (senior citizens), A3 (persons with comorbidities), A4 (essential workers), and A5 (indigent population).
Currently, Covid-19 vaccination is ongoing at the SMX Convention Center, Ayala Malls Capitol Central and Robinsons Place Bacolod as well in several barangay gymnasiums and school clusters.
Bacolodnons are given a vaccination schedule as walk-ins are no longer allowed in shopping malls to avoid crowds and ensure the orderly administration of jabs for various priority sectors.
The city government has received various brands of vaccines from the national government, including the single-shot Janssen, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sinovac.
On July 26, Bacolod registered a record number of 12,016 vaccinations in a day.
“This is our biggest number in a single day done in malls, barangays, and establishments. That more and more are now willing to be inoculated is heartening,” Mayor Evelio Leonardia said.
He appealed to Bacolodnons for understanding as he assured them that the city government would continue to exert all efforts to vaccinate as many as possible.* (Nanette Guadalquiver)
