Ceneco rate up by P0.9506/KWh
The Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Ceneco) announced yesterday that its average residential rate for the billing month of July 2021 is P10.4935/KWh, an increase of P0.9506/KWh from last month’s rate of P9.5429/KWh.
The P0.9506/kWh rate increase can be attributed to the hike in generation, transmission, system loss charges, and other pass-through charges such as Lifeline and Senior Citizen Discount, GRAM-ICERA adjustment and VAT, it said.
“The pass-through charges equivalent to P9.3069/KWh of the total power rate include the Generation and Transmission charges, ERC-approved adjustments, government subsidies and taxes. Only P1.1866/KWh of the power rate goes to CENECO through Distribution Supply, Metering (DSM) Charges and Reinvestment Fund for Sustainable CAPER (RFSC) for its administrative and operational services,” Ceneco also said.
However, Ceneco’s DSM and RFSC rate have not increased since 2010.
In monitoring the monthly electricity usage, consumers are advised to look at their kilowatt-hour consumption and not the amount. The amount may vary depending on the pass-through charges as shown above, the Ceneco advisory added.
The Ceneco Board and Management continue to remind the electricity consumers to conserve energy to avoid paying high electricity bills, it added.*
