5,277 new Covid Cases in Philippines, total at 202,361
DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #165
As of 4PM yesterday, Wednesday, August 26, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 202,361.
DOH likewise announces 1,131 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 133,460.
A total of 5,277 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests done by 95 out of 109 current operational labs.
Note: Of the 5,277 reported cases today, 4,350 (82%) occurred within the recent 14 days (August 13 – August 26, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (2,616 or 60%), Region 4A (868 or 20%) and Region 6 (220 or 5%).
Of the 99 deaths, 77 occurred in August (78%), 18 in July (18%) 3 in June (3%) and 1 in May (1%). Deaths were from NCR (61 or 62%), Region 4A (14 or 14%), Region 3 (12 or 12%), Region 7 (6 or 6%), Region 6 (2 or 2%), Region 2 (1 or 1%), Region 10 (1 or 1%), and CAR (1 or 1%).
There were 80 duplicates that were removed from the total case count. Of these, 58 recovered cases have been removed.
Moreover, there were nine cases that were previously reported as recovered but after final validation, they were deaths.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.*
