‘Preventive lockdown’ is on in some areas of Barangays 5 and 6 in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental due to Covid case

 

Zone 6 of Barangay 5 & 6 in San Carlos City are under a “preventive lockdown” to contain an imminent risk after the first confirmed COVID-19 case involving returning resident from Cebu City was pronounced.

In a statement of Mayor Rene Gustilo, in coordination with Punong Barangay Ruth Aba of Barangay V and Punong Barangay Ronaldo Batusin of Barangay VI, he mandated such urgent action to be carried out by the local police force in order to hasten mitigating measures with the aim to arrest further escalation and potential spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, rapid contact tracing was facilitated by the City Health Office as massive disinfection to areas accessed by Patient 1 is done by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The affected communities and residents of the Barangay 5 & 6 were enjoined to cooperate with the authorities and support proactive steps to ensure a systematic response to this crisis.* (San Carlos City IMT)
