Statement of Vallehermoso Mayor Marriane Serion Gustilo
June 4, 2020
It saddens me to inform everyone that Patient#1 from Vallehermoso is indeed confirmed COVID positive.
Patient#1, male, arrived in Vallehermoso from Cadiz City, Negros Occidental last May 19, 2020.
The designated vehicle for Locally Stranded Individuals (LSI’s) picked him up from San Carlos-Vallehermoso boundary and broought him straight to our quarantine center.
He showed mild cough while in quarantine and was given medication.
A swab test was taken for assurance last May 26, 2020. Upon receiving the news, Patient#1 was transferred to another facility where he is isolated, observed and will undergo another swab test in 14 days.
We prompt the people of Vallehermoso to remain calm since contact tracing in the municipality has already been completed and those who came in close contact with Patient#1 is already in quarantine.
We also ask the public to refrain from listening to and spreading wrong information to avoid panic and confusion.
Only seek information from the proper authorities and reliable sources.
Rest assured that we in Vallehermoso will do everything in our power to ensure the safety of our citizens and that of our neighboring cities.
“Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray for everything” Philippians 4:6
Keep safe everyone and God Bless us all.*
