Bacolod Police Nabs Carnapping Suspect
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) apprehended a suspect in connection with a reported carnapping incident involving a motorcycle at 6:30 AM on August 15, 2026, in the vicinity of Lessandra Heights, Camella Homes Subdivision, Brgy. Bata, Bacolod.
Initial investigation indicated that the victim discovered that his motorcycle was missing from where it had been parked near his residence. The victim, whose identity was not indicated in the BCPO report, with the assistance of a neighbor, reviewed available CCTV footage, which reportedly captured an unidentified individual taking the motorcycle earlier that morning.
The victim immediately exerted efforts to locate the missing vehicle. During his search, he reportedly spotted an individual riding the motorcycle and followed the person until reaching the vicinity of the Border Control of the Bacolod City Mobile Force Company along Circumferential Road, Brgy. Mandalagan.
With the assistance of personnel from Police Station 3, BCPO, the suspect, whose identity was also not indicated in the police report, was apprehended and placed under police custody for proper disposition and further investigation.
The recovered motorcycle and other pieces of evidence relevant to the incident were secured and are being processed in accordance with established police procedures.
The BCPO reminds the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions in securing their vehicles. Motorcycle owners are encouraged to always remove the ignition key, lock their vehicles properly, park in secure and well-lit areas, and make use of available security measures such as CCTV cameras and additional locks.
This accomplishment highlights the importance of community vigilance, timely reporting, CCTV monitoring, and swift police response in addressing property crimes and protecting the community, a BCPO statement stated.
