Region’s No. 1 Most Wanted Person Nabbed

The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region recorded another major accomplishment in its intensified campaign against wanted persons with the successful arrest of the Regional No. 1 Most Wanted Person during a manhunt operation conducted by La Carlota CCPS, NOcPPO, with the assistance of RIU-NIR and PIU NOcPPO, at about 10:24 AM on July 4, 2026, along Ibiza Street, Villa Caridad Subdivision, Barangay III (Pob.), La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

The accused was identified as alias “Mar,” 20 years old, Filipino, male, single, jobless, and a resident of San Agustin Street, Barangay II (Pob.), La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

The arrest was carried out by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for Six (6) Counts of Rape under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1(d) of the Revised Penal Code, with no bail recommended. The accused allegedly engaged in repeated sexual intercourse with his minor girlfriend at his residence, which allegedly resulted in the victim’s pregnancy.

The accused was apprised of his constitutional rights in a language he fully understood and is presently under the custody of La Carlota CCPS for proper disposition. A Body-Worn Camera (BWC) was utilized throughout the conduct of the police operation to ensure transparency and accountability. PBGen. Romano Cardiño commended the operating units for the successful apprehension of the region’s top most wanted person, emphasizing that PRO NIR remains relentless in pursuing fugitives accused of grave offenses, particularly crimes committed against women and children.

“The arrest of the Regional No. 1 Most Wanted Person sends a clear message that no fugitive can outrun the law. PRO NIR will continue to intensify its manhunt operations to ensure that those accused of serious crimes are brought to justice,” PBGEN CARDIÑO said.
