Mixed Rookie Finals Rolls Off Today
Last qualifying squads resume after
The Mixed Rookie Masters Finals event of the 26th Negros Tenpin Bowling Open Tournament 2026 at Lopue’s East Bowling Center in Bacolod City is ready to start this morning, June 26.
Top qualifier Cholo Tenedero of STAI took the lead with 1,167 total pin falls then closely followed by teammates – Roi Tolosa (1,165), Gab Gauzon (1,145), Jan Carl Alcantara (1,125) – and securing the third spot was Chivas Guevarra of SLETBA who scored 1,145. The other 25 qualified bowlers will play a 6-game series to vie for a chance to advance in the Stepladder Finals later this morning.
The organizers expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support from the local and national tenpin bowling community. “Your presence does more than just fill these lanes; it fosters the spirit of camaraderie and excellence that makes our bowling community so special,” they further stated. And on behalf of the Lopue family including Mr Billy Lopue & OJ Lopue, and the STAI President & coach Herman Santos, the organisers welcomed athletes who travelled from Cebu, Iloilo, Dagupan, Cagayan, Baguio, Manila, and other parts of the country. “Let the pins fall where they may! We wish every single one of you the very best of luck.”
Meanwhile, qualifying rounds in the remaining bowling events continue this afternoon to determine the Top 32 in the Mixed Open division, Top 36 in Mixed Classified & Seniors, and Top 24 in Mixed Youth. Each division will have an 8-game series (Open) and a 7-game series (Classified, Seniors, and Youth) to determine the bowlers who will advance to the next round.
