Preparing for the upcoming Choral Festival

January 5, 2026

Tri-Stakes Philippines Choir of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has officially begun rehearsals for its highly anticipated upcoming Choral Festival, a major sacred music event highlighting faith, unity, and inter-stake collaboration.

The choral initiative is strongly supported by the three Stake Presidents of the Bacolod area: President Bon Escobar of the Bacolod Philippines Stake, President Joaquin Montero of the Bacolod North Philippines Stake, and President Antonio Jayme of the Bacolod South Philippines Stake. Also lending their support are the Stake Counselors, Stake Music Directors, and Stake Communications Directors—Sister Cora Villanueva, Sister Charrie Santillan, Sister Bitar Belasa, and Sister Sheena Mae Petero—along with the Stake Relief Society President of the Bacolod Stake Sister Merced Jugos.

The choir is composed of 100 voices drawn from the three stakes, reflecting a strong spirit of unity and cooperation. Leading the ensemble is Prof. Alexander Magno Romero, a Philippine-renowned LDS pianist and choral conductor, with Brother Ronwell Imperial serving as the pianist-accompanist.

Organizers shared that the Choral Festival aims to uplift audiences through sacred choral music while strengthening fellowship among members of the Church. Rehearsals are ongoing as the choir prepares a repertoire designed to inspire devotion, glorify God, and showcase the rich tradition of sacred choral artistry within the Church.

The Bacolod Tri-Stakes Philippines Choir continues its preparations with a shared commitment to excellence, faith, and service through music.*
