A Night of Glamour

Garden club’s Christmas celebration
The festive season sparkled early in Bacolod City as the Negros Occidental Garden Club (NOGC) staged one of the year’s most glamorous gatherings, drawing some 125 members and guests to the Acacia Hotel for its annual Christmas celebration and induction of 2026 officers and directors.
The evening blended tradition, fellowship, glamour and dazzling entertainment. Nonoy Lope Napao was sworn in as the club’s 63rd president by honorary member Judge Lorna Demonteverde. In his acceptance speech, Napao — continuing his leadership from 2024 and 2025 — thanked members for their unwavering support and pledged to advance gardening and community projects across the province.
After a sumptuous dinner, the club’s seven groups delighted everyone with vibrant Christmas‑themed skits, earning applause and cheers that cemented the event as one of Bacolod’s standout parties of the year. The night concluded on a joyful note with a visit by Santa and his elf helper Levi, who charmed guests with his oversized ears, bright green suit and sweet treats for all.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to outgoing officers and outstanding performers, while December birthday celebrators were honored with a festive cake. The celebration reaffirmed the garden club’s reputation for fellowship, creativity and community spirit.* (Robert Harland)
